I've bought 3. First one lasted 6 months then the valve broke and it wouldn't stop overflowing. Second one, same thing unless on a PERFECTLY level surface. That one is failing again, now. Third one was the last one to work for over a year, but now it doesn't.
I'm getting sick of my birds having no watet because it drains out so easy. Anyone else have these problems? Every review online all states that their waterer of this specific make and model has this specific issue.
Harris Farms did not appear to reply to these reviews.

I have one and love it.
There is an issue with the inside floating ring. It's two pieces, and they aren't sealed together, merely snapped. A few people have taken it out and sealed it together with something waterproof, and that solved the problem.
I would try taking it apart and sealing the float before junking them.

The ring thingy inside. Almost every day, it is loose! How did it break, exactly? Like, is a piece broken, or is it malfunctioning only?I have one and love it.

I will try sealing one of them, I'd like to still be able to separate to clean them

How do you mean loose? It's supposed to float up and down. Or do you mean the parts you screw from the top inside and bottom underside being loose? The ring thingy inside. Almost every day, it is loose!I will try sealing one of them, I'd like to still be able to separate to clean them
I think I have a better idea of your problem, the whole housing is basically coming loose? I'd try using a tool to hold the one piece while you hand tighten the other piece hard.

Now I use an 11 gallon plastic tote with horizontal nipples. For winter I add a stock tank deicer as I live in Montana where it gets cold. Water gets filled and changed once a week. Water is always clean. Birds always have water. My first one lasted for 3 years.
This year I had to replace the tote as it was leaking.
You do not have to train your birds to use the nipples. Normally just putting the new nipple waterer in with the birds and removing all other sources of water will have them drinking within a couple hours. The nipples are red with metal. Chickens love to peck at red shiny things so they learn where the water is.

The big black donut ring inside the base that you can't see when it's put together, or the black nut on the underside you tighten? The black piece inside. I am not home to take a picture.
The green 6 gallon is the one I have, but they're all built the same way.
